OPENS TONIGHT: A subtle and moving exploration of masculinity, @doubleactplay is a thoughtful new play full of tenderness and wit. Double Act is a funny and moving battle of wits between one man’s thoughts on his last day alive. Classic clown meets urban angst in Pierrot’s unexpected journey from London to the cliffs of Beachy Head. It’s a beautifully honest glimpse into destructive self-talk and the redemptive power of listening. Double Act is directed by Jef Hall-Flavin, an award-winning artist with 25 years of experience making work all over the world. Across his distinguished career, he has received praise from the Washington Post, Boston Globe and the New Zealand Herald. Jef will be working alongside Nick Hyde, a hugely talented young playwright and actor. Nick’s work deals with fraught, complex issues with a rare levity and insight.
